Ch - 1 the deal

Today is a big day for me. One of the biggest deals is going to be signed today. I know I have to take this deal, and I will-but this is not going to be easy. The people coming are not just competitors... they are my biggest enemies. And none other than Louis Darkwood and his sons.

My jaw tightened at the thought.

They won't back down easily. Neither will I.

I walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower, letting the cold water run over me. It helped clear my mind, but not completely. Deals like this were never simple. One wrong move, and everything could turn into chaos.

After finishing, I stepped out and wore one of my black suits-perfectly tailored, sharp, and intimidating. I adjusted my cufflinks slowly, looking at my reflection in the mirror.

Calm. Controlled. Dangerous.

That's what they needed to see.

I walked out and descended the stairs toward the dining area. The house was quiet, but the moment I stepped in, my eyes fell on her.

Sonnet my wife.

She was already sitting at the table, waiting for me. Just one look at her, and for a moment, the noise in my head went silent.

The only peace in my dark world.

Her eyes lifted as she noticed me, and a soft smile appeared on her face. No matter how many years passed, that smile still had the same effect on me.

"Good morning," she said gently.

I walked closer, my steps slowing down. Before sitting, I lifted her chin slightly and placed a soft kiss on her lips.

"Good morning, love," I replied.

She smiled again, her eyes full of warmth-something I never allowed the world to see.

Maids started setting the plates, arranging breakfast like always.

I took my seat and picked up my coffee, taking a slow sip. My mind was already running again-numbers, plans, possibilities, risks my mens also telled me about some ideas and showing me ideas

"Everything had to be perfect." I commanded to them they noded.

"Big day?" she asked, noticing my silence.

I nodded slightly. "Very big."

Her expression turned a little serious, but she didn't ask more. She knew better. She always did.

And that's why I trusted her more than anyone.

Still, one thought remained clear in my mind

No matter what happens today...

I will win this deal.

The alarm rang. My eyes slowly opened as I saw the sunlight streaming through the glass windows of my balcony. Birds were chirping. I sat up slightly when my eyes went to the clock-it was 8:50.

"Shit... not again. I slept late again."

I quickly stood up, freshened up, took a shower, and went to my closet to choose what to wear.

"I know I am a little spoiled and difficult ... but it's okay. I am the daughter of Viktor Volkov."

I chose a blue floral corset maxi dress. It was covering my curves perfectly. I opened my dark black hair, which was like my mom's, and chose white heels. I looked at myself in the mirror, admiring myself a little.

"Hmm... as always, I am looking good. I should go downstairs now."

I got downstairs to the dining room for breakfast. Mom and Dad were already there.

"Good morning, Mom and Dad," I said and gave a hug to both of them.

My mom said, "Good morning, my baby. You are looking so stunning." Her appreciation always makes me happy.

"Thank you, Mom. Love you."

"Good morning, Evelyn. Hope you slept well. And again, you woke up late, but your mom is right-you are looking beautiful, just like your mom."

A chuckle came to my face. "Thanks, Dad. And of course, I am like my mom."

"By the way, Dad, are you going somewhere?" I noticed that he was so perfectly styled.

"Ooh yes, Evelyn. Today is an important deal with some dealers."

"Ohh... Dad, I wanna say something. Can I also please go with you to the meeting? I wanna see how my mafia dad does his work. Please, Dad," I said with an innocent look, so he melted.

"No, Evelyn. It could be dangerous," he said. My smile faltered.

"No, please, Dad... please. I wanna go, and I am not a kid anymore. You know that," I said, looking at him with my big, hopeful eyes.

He looked at me silently for a moment, his expression serious, like he was thinking of every possible danger.

"Evelyn," he said slowly, "this is not a place for you. It's dangerous. These are not normal people."

I pouted slightly and held his arm. "But I am your daughter, Dad. If you can handle it, then I can at least see it. I just wanna understand your world... your work."

He didn't say anything, but I could see he was already softening.

"Please, Dad," I said again, this time a little softer. "I'll stay with you the whole time. I won't talk to anyone. I'll just stand beside you. I promise."

Mom chuckled softly from the side, clearly enjoying the moment.

"She's not going to stop, Viktor," Mom said. "You know that."

Dad exhaled deeply, running a hand through his hair.

"You are too stubborn," he muttered.

I smiled a little, knowing I was winning.

"Fine," he finally said, pointing a finger at me. "But you will stay beside me the entire time. No wandering. No unnecessary talking. And if I say we leave, we leave immediately. Understood?"

My face instantly lit up. "Yes, Dad! I promise, I won't do anything wrong."

He narrowed his eyes slightly. "You better not."

I quickly hugged him. "Thank you, Dad!"

"Alright, alright," he said, though I could feel a small smile forming.

I turned to Mom and hugged her too.

"Bye, Mom!"

"Take care," she said softly, kissing my forehead.

I pulled back, excitement bubbling inside me. This was my first time seeing Dad's world this closely.

We walked outside the mansion. A line of black cars was already waiting, guards standing alert around them. The atmosphere felt different-more serious, more intense.

Dad opened the car door for me, and I got inside. He followed, his expression already turning cold and unreadable again-the mafia boss was back.

As the car started moving, I looked out of the window, my heart beating faster with excitement.

I had no idea what was waiting for me... but I knew one thing

Today was going to be unforgettable.
